What is the Joint Service Academy Ball (JSAB)?
The Washington, D.C. area JSAB is a formal military holiday gala held to honor and celebrate the young men and women who currently attend one of the United States Service Academies:
In conjunction with the area Parents’ Clubs for each Military Service Academy, the Parents Association of the National Capital Area (PANCA) is honored to host the 2024 Joint Service Academy Ball for the DC area. GUEST SPEAKER
MAJOR GENERAL GEORGE M. DEGNON (U.S. AIR FORCE, RET.) George Degnon retired from the United States Air Force as a Major General in October 2020. His final assignment was the National Guard Advisor to the Commander of North American Air Defense Command and US Northern Command (NORAD/USNORTHCOM). In this role, he provided key insight and homeland defense solutions during dynamic and uncertain times. During the initial phases of the COVID-19 pandemic he served as the National Guard’s senior liaison to the White House legal team providing military advice regarding National Guard’s usage and operational capabilities.

MAJOR ANTHONY W. WILLIAMS United States Army Acquisition Product Manager PM – Ground Sensors PEO Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors Major Anthony W. Williams, a native of Augusta, Georgia, and a 2013 Distinguished Military
Graduate of Fort Valley State University, where he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. He holds a Master's in Policy Management from Georgetown University, a Master of Science in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Fort Valley State University. Potomac Heights Baptist Church, Indian Head, Maryland Lead Pastor Pastor Brian Sandifer married Mary Marshall Sandifer in 1994. They have four grown children, the youngest of which is a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy (class of 2027). Brian and his wife were both raised in Air Force families, with Brian’s dad serving in the enlisted ranks and Mary’s dad serving as an officer. Brian has been a pastor for over 25 years. He received his Master of Divinity (MDiv) and his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as a pastor in three different states and one foreign country. He has been the lead pastor of Potomac Heights Baptist Church in Indian Head, Maryland, for nearly 13 years.
